Q: How long have you been painting?
A: I have been an artist for 17 years, but only started putting paint to a canvas in 2007. I am a makeup artist by trade, and worked as one for over 15 years. Now I am a full time freelance "painter".

Q: Do you have a “day job” or do you paint full-time?

Q: I love a painting, but it’s a little more then what I can afford right now. Do you offer layaway?

Q: I noticed that your prices have gone up over the passed few years. How do you determine the price of a painting?
A: I price my art according to previous sales. If my last 16x20 painting sold for 1,000 then my 16x20 paintings would be valued at 1,000. It works just like the housing market, if your house was appraised at 1,000,000 last year, then a house down the street just like yours sold for 1,200,000 then your house value just went up. Your typical artist artwork can go up as much as 25% a year.

Q: What form of medium do you use?
A: All of my artwork is painted with acrylic, either on canvas or watercolor paper. My painting range in sizes 2 ½ x 3 ½ to 30 x 30, but not limited. so I really have no preferred preference.

Q: Do you sketch or drawl before you paint?
A: No, all my art is a direct result from paint to a canvas. No sketching is ever involved.

Q: As a artist do you need to look at something in order to paint something?
A: No, I paint in my kitchen on a huge over sized island. All of my artwork comes from my mind, heart, and soul. Everything I paint is always a one of a kind, and I don’t paint the same painting twice.

Q: I noticed that the paintings with a little girl never shows her face. Why is that? Or can you not paint faces?
A: I painted faces for 15 years as a makeup artist, so my skill is not a problem. It’s more of a preference. I feel painting a face takes away from the mystery. I love that any women or child can relate to a person or situation, other then just a face. Faces are just too personal.

Q: I understand that you’re an artist, and sale your art online. But how can I really trust to buy from you?
A: I know it’s very difficult these days to trust anyone, let alone some selling online. I have however build my entire clientele online. I have sold over 200 original paintings and hundreds of prints all with 100% feedback via the internet. Q: shipping & handling?
A: I ship all paintings and or prints via Priority Mail. Tracking comes standard for all purchases. Insurance comes standard on all Originals. I usually mail with in 24 hours of purchase. I also combine shipping on all orders. Q: Do you accept credit cards?
A: Yes. I accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. All cards can be processed by email, phone, or in person.

Q: I am on a friends computer, and I don’t have a email, pay pal, credit card, or bank account. Can I still buy your art?
A: Absolutely, It’s done all the time. Just send me a money order and or check for the agreed total amount due. And I’ll get your order out to you ASAP

Q: I live outside the US. Can I still buy your prints or original paintings?
A: Yes, most all countries can order through my website. If not, you can still order directly from me by emailing me with which print or painting you would like and your shipping address. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Q: How long will it take to receive my order?
A: Please allow three to 3 days for delivery in the US, and 3 weeks for all orders placed outside of the US.

Q: What is Pay Pal? Why am I asked to create a password?
A: Pay Pal is the service that powers my shopping carts. All you need to use Pay Pal is an email address. You can pay with a credit card, debit card, or your checking account. It's easy, safe, and free to use! It is a secure ordering system and requires a password . If you do not want to order online, simply Email me about the item you would like to order and your shipping address, and I will provide you with an address to send you’re personal check or a money order. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Q: What sizes are your open edition prints?
A: At this time, all open edition prints come in 3 sizes - 8"x10" / 8.5"x11" / 2 ½ X 3 ½ These measurements indicate the total size of the print, and include a white mounting border which varies slightly in size. If you would prefer just the actual size print with no white border, just info me while checking out.

Q: What does "open edition" print mean?
A: All of the prints I sell directly on this website or etsy are what are called "open edition" prints. "open edition" prints are prints that I can reproduce at my discretion and are not numbered or limited in number. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Q: Their is artwork of yours I can't find on your website, is it available in a print?

Q: Will you sign my poster print, calendar, book /etc.?
A: I would be happy to! Just Email Me and let me know, and I will give you instructions on how to send your item to me to be signed or personalize. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Q: Do you have any books out?
A: Not at this time! I am working on a new children’s book titled “ A Strange Little Girls Quest For A Secret”. The book will be volume 1 of 3, and should be published in 2010.

Q: Do you do custom paintings? Can I commission you for a project?
A: Yes! I accept commissions, freelance illustration and custom paintings on a limited basis. I can usually finish a piece within a week, depending on size and level of detail. Please feel free to email me with your request! The fee is based on size, $4.00 per square inch. I require 50% of the total up front to cover material costs and as a deposit. I always email a scan of the finished work, and make as many revisions as necessary before the final payment is due.
Please know, this fee is based on the actual sale of the artwork. buyers of a commissioned painting is not buying the actual copyright or reproduction rights. All copyrights will be retained with the artist unless otherwise permitted in a written contract. Q: How do I know if I have an original Philippe Fernandez
A: All of artwork comes signed ex.( Philippe F 09) on the front bottom corner, and also signed, tilted, and dated on the back top left of the painting. All originals come with a COA- Certificate Of Authenticity Validated with ebsqart. Also both the back of the painting and COA should have my right thumb print in red ink. If your still not for sure, please feel free to email me some photo's of the front and back of the painting, and I’ll do my best to assist you. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Q: I have one of your original paintings, but I misplaced my COA, can you send me a new one?
A: In the case you misplaced a COA and have purchased it directly from me the artist , I can email you a new printable one. I will not supply a COA unless first shown tangible proof of sale. Ex; Email, name, address, and pictures of both the front and back of the painting. I hold a detail record of all sales, and will only communicate with the email I have on record.

Q: I purchased a painting of yours from a dealer or received it as a gift, but with no COA. Can you send me one?
A: If you purchased it from a dealer of received it as a gift, that party is reasonable for supplying you with the COA. In this case the original buyer or dealer must contact me, other wise their is no proof of the sale.

Q: You emailed me a COA that I previously misplaced. But it’s not singed or dated with your thumb print.
A: If you would like it signed, dated, and with the thumb print, your must mail the COA to me in a self addressed stamped envelope, and I’ll get it back to you ASAP. A: Very cool, nice to meet you :-). Sorry but discounts are only available to persons that are offered from a flyer or mailer, and are already a existing client.
